The full 2010 budget as being presented by our PM is quite disappointing. The focus seems to be on the lower income groups and the business players instead of the society in general. Or is it that this country is already broke and heavily in debt? The middle class make up the majority portion of our society but yet the budget seems to alleviate the economic burden faced only by the lower income group. The announcement of 1% reduction is of no help either because muslims have to pay zakat. With or without the tax, the zakat has to be paid. The credit card tax seems to be one of the main issues. RM50 per card seems to be to expensive considering we usually carry around two or three cards. The property tax however seems to be a right move. Nowadays people treat home purchasing as a business deal instead of calling it a home. They buy the house because they want to sell it for profit. The government's move to tax this activity is spot on. More importantly, without the customary bonuses, 2010 will be dealt differently from the previous years.
Yesterday this country is shocked by the news of Dr. Asri's arrest. Interestingly, the arrested party (JAIS) seems don't know why they are arresting him. Please JAIS, don;t make Malaysia a laughing stock. Your behavior suggests that you are akin of a mad-man running amok who just destroy people's property, hacked people down without considering why he has to do it. This is very shamful.
I don't have the luxury to write on this blog - However, these are the collections of my thoughts at one point or another.
